Why Sunshine Homeowners Choose Hello Gravel
Sunshine is a growing Florida city of 100,000 residents within a larger metro area of 2.3+ million, and its steady 0.69% annual growth points to continued demand for home improvement, infill development, and routine infrastructure upkeep. That steady expansion means more driveways, patios, garden upgrades, and small-scale construction projects where homeowners and contractors need reliable bulk materials. Sunshine's climate—with 228 sunny days each year, 33.69 inches of annual rainfall, and placement in hardiness zone 8b—supports year-round work but also shapes material choice: you’ll want aggregates and soils that manage runoff during seasonal rains, mulches and ground covers that withstand strong sun without rapid color loss, and fill materials compatible with local grading and erosion-control needs. In this market, accessible, regionally sourced bulk supplies make it easier to schedule projects and avoid surprises on site.Popular Projects in Sunshine This Season

Frequently Asked Questions - Sunshine Gravel Delivery
Everything you need to know about gravel delivery in Sunshine.
Sunshine's warm, humid climate and seasonal heavy rains mean drainage and stability are top priorities. Choose materials and installation methods that shed water and resist washout; for example, plan for good base layers and surface slope. Also consider salt exposure in coastal areas and choose aggregates and installation details that tolerate corrosion and abrasion.
Base your choice on load, drainage, maintenance, and desired appearance rather than a single product name. Heavier traffic areas usually need more stable, well-compacted material and a good base, while planting beds and low-traffic paths can use looser, decorative aggregates. Think about long-term upkeep, weed control, and how the material performs in wet conditions common in Sunshine.
Measure the length, width, and desired depth of the area and convert to cubic yards or tons using our material calculator, and allow 10% to 20% extra for compaction and waste. Minimum orders start at 3 tons, so factor that into small projects. If you are unsure, request a quote or talk to our team with your measurements for a quick estimate.
Deliveries are typically by dump truck and require clear truck access, level ground for unloading, and room to maneuver; narrow streets, low-hanging wires, or tight driveways can limit where a truck can dump. Some curbside or street deliveries may require local permits or HOA approval, so check with local authorities and let us know access issues before scheduling. We arrange delivery windows but standard lead time is 2+ business days, with a next-day option for orders placed before noon CST for an extra fee.
Avoid the peak of the summer rainy season and days with heavy storms when possible, since wet ground can make delivery and compaction difficult and increase washout risk. Late fall through spring tends to be more predictable for delivery and installation, but local contractor availability and project timelines also matter. If you need faster timing, ask about the next-day delivery option when you place your order.
Drivers may be able to perform tailgate spreading at their discretion, but this service cannot be guaranteed and depends on site conditions and safety. You can request spreading at checkout and the driver will assess whether it can be done safely upon arrival. For full spreading or detailed grading, arrange professional labor separately or coordinate with your contractor.
Many HOAs and some municipalities have rules about driveway surfaces, visible material types, and curbside work, so check local HOA guidelines and city regulations before ordering. Permits may be required for curb cuts, street parking for delivery trucks, or large deposits on public right-of-way. If you are unsure, contact your HOA or city building department and let our team know so we can plan deliveries accordingly.
Schedule deliveries with lead time for larger volumes, and plan for consistent material sourcing across multiple loads to minimize color or texture differences. Coordinate staging areas and truck access, and factor in potential additional fees for tight access, permits, or lot restrictions. Communicate project timelines clearly with suppliers and the Hauler so deliveries align with crew availability.
Design for positive drainage away from structures and use proper base preparation and compaction to reduce erosion. Consider geotextile fabric, edging, or retaining features to hold material in place on slopes, and choose aggregates and installation details that tolerate periodic salt exposure. Regular maintenance after storms is important to repair washouts and replenish lost material.
Pricing reflects material type, quantity, delivery distance, access complexity, and optional services like expedited delivery or requested spreading. Standard delivery typically requires 2+ business days and may be free in many areas, while next-day delivery and special services carry additional fees. We cannot get out of the truck and manually spread it. However, depending on the location, safety, and comfortability of the driver – we may be able to tailgate spread your material. This involves pulling the truck forward as material is being dumped to make it easier for you to distribute material after delivery.
The minimum order size is 3 tons.
